Matt Benda has provided general legal services in Albert Lea since 1996. He provides personal attention to his clients and practices under the motto: “Finding Solutions ... one client at a time.” Matt is currently the Managing Attorney for the office.
Matt is a tireless community advocate and participates in numerous community-driven activities.
Matt works closely with his team and business clients to provide personalized service at all stages of business cycles and needs. As a farm kid himself, Matt takes pride in his work with farmers in all aspects of their business and legacy planning.
In 2011 and again in 2018, Matt was named one of Minnesota Lawyer's Attorneys of the Year for his work with watershed districts and local businesses. He previously served as Chair of the MSBA, Agricultural Law Section Council and as a volunteer attorney and President of the Board of Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services.
Matt has acted as an advocate for the community in many capacities. Most recently, as a 4-H Youth Leader and former Chair of the St. Theodores Catholic School Board of Directors.
Matt remains active in the political arena and believes that if you are going to live in a community, you must give to the community.
Matt is married to Heather Benda, who is a C.P.A. and partner with the accounting firm of Hill, Benda, Skov & Bernau in Albert Lea. Matt and Heather have two children – Ashler and Avery.
