Stephanie A. Haedt

Stephanie Haedt is a native of southern Minnesota. She was born in Lake City, to Dan and Linda Armagost, and raised in Austin, Minnesota. She graduated from Austin High School. Stephanie completed her undergraduate work at Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois, where she obtained a degree in Political Science. Stephanie then attended Hamline University School of Law, where she obtained her law degree. Stephanie has made her home in Austin with her husband Dustin. Dustin and Stephanie have two daughters, Brenna and Lily.

During law school and after obtaining her license, Stephanie, worked for the Cooper Law Firm, Chartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota. While there, Stephanie practiced primarily in the area of plaintiff’s employment litigation. Stephanie is familiar with the Minnesota Human Rights Act, Minnesota Parenting Leave Act, Family Medical Leave Act, Whistleblower

Statute, Title VII, Unemployment Compensation, Minnesota Drug Testing Law, Child Labor Standards Act, and other similar statutes. In 2003, Stephanie won an Outstanding Achievement Award for Excellence in Employment Discrimination Law from the Minnesota State Bar Association, Labor & Employment Law Section. Stephanie has put her knowledge and experience to use at Peterson, Savelkoul & Benda, LTD to advise clients on employment and business decisions, including personnel issues and writing employee handbooks and policies.

Stephanie also practices in the areas of family law and civil litigation. Stephanie is a volunteer attorney for Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services and a past presdient of the Freeborn County Bar Association. She was recognized as an Up and Coming Attorney in 2009 by Minnesota Lawyer.
