Stephanie A. Haedt

Stephanie Haedt is a native of southern Minnesota. She has practiced law in Albert Lea since 2005. Stephanie has made her home in Austin with her husband Dustin and their two daughters, Brenna and Lily.

Prior to coming to Albert Lea, Stephanie practiced primarily in the area of plaintiff’s employment litigation. This experience provides a unique perspective to her business clients, advising clients on employment and business decisions, including personnel issues and writing employee handbooks and policies. Stephanie is familiar with the Minnesota Human Rights Act, Minnesota Parenting Leave Act, Family Medical Leave Act, Whistleblower Statute, Title VII, Unemployment Compensation, Minnesota Drug Testing Law, Child Labor Standards Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Affordable Healthcare Act and other similar statutes, State


and Federal employment laws. She has experience in the judicial system and state and federal administrative agencies, including, state and federal court, the Minnesota Department of Human Rights, Minnesota Department of Labor, Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Minnesota Department of Employment and Development - Minnesota Unemployment Insurance Program, and the Minnesota Department of Labor.

Stephanie also practices in the areas of family law and civil litigation. Stephanie provides personal attention to clients to find solutions to their unique circumstances. Stephanie practices in all areas of family law, including, but not limited to, dissolutions, paternities, custody, parenting time, child support, antinuptial and postnuptial agreements and adoption.

Stephanie has been recognized as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers and an Up and Coming Attorney by Minnesota Lawyer. She received the 2011 Minnesota Third Judicial District Pro Bono Award. Stephanie won an Outstanding Achievement Award for Excellence in Employment Discrimination Law from the Minnesota State Bar Association, Labor & Employment Law Section.

Stephanie also spends significant time giving back to the communities in which she lives and practices. Stephanie is a volunteer attorney for Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services, a past president of the Freeborn County Bar Association, Member of the Board of the Albert Lea Freeborn County Chamber of Commerce - Executive Committee and Worksite Wellness Committee, State High School League Mock Trial Judge, Assistant Girl Scout Troop Leader and former Commissioner of the Austin Human Rights Commission.
